Wednesday Walks: Moving Moos

I think I posted about Butterball meeting the herd of cows that live down the street from us. Well, they moved recently. Closer and to a pasture with more trees in the front. Butterball was pretty suspicious, so we explored in stages.

I didn't realize I had this sun effect in these pictures. It's a testament to him that I can take pictures at all. I would've died doing the same off Goggles.

We moved on from the first vantage point and then did some more staring

But then he decided to march up closer to them

And get an emotional support snack

Everything is less scary with a mouthful of food

Then we calmly resumed our walk. There was a single loose cow that came bursting out of a wooded driveway towards us. He understandably spooked but then still resumed a loose rein walk a few seconds later. I adore that.

Picture from a different day in his snackamore. I did intentionally let him eat a good bit on this walk. He was less concerned about the cows but still holding some tension so I let him eat until he relaxed.

Close sniffing some kids toys at the curb

And the trash can

My husband fed while the barn owner was gone for the evening and I was at work. He does know Butterball and Ben but I did labeled pictures for the others. Butterball asked me to add this note...

Napping with his weanlings. He's the cutest.
